The map

Pick a disk and see its partitions as a bar, each segment sized by its bytes and coloured by its filesystem, the used space shaded, above a table of every partition: name, filesystem, label, mount point, size, used and flags. SMART says how the disk is.

Nothing until you say so

Create, delete, format, resize, label, set flags, check, mount and unmount, make a new partition table, unlock LUKS: each joins a queue, and nothing happens until a confirmation lists them in plain words. A size that doesn't fit stays in its dialog with the reason.

Careful with your data

Resizing ext2, ext3 or ext4 checks and repairs the filesystem first, and a failed check stops before the partition changes. Disk images attach as loop devices, read-only if you like, and stay until you detach them. Everything goes through UDisks2.
